Designer display latest menswear trends at London Fashion Week

A number of top menswear designers have showcased their latest ranges at London Festival Week.

All sorts of trends - from the sublime to the ridiculous - were displayed in front of an eager crowd of fashionistas, journalists and celebrities.

Grazia Magazine reports that a lot of designer menswear set to be big this summer included stripes, tailored outfits and short shorts.

Getting particularly excited about the tailored outfits on show in an article for, fashion journalist Alex Butt said: "Tailoring was everywhere again. Last season saw tons of well-cut suits on the men's catwalks after years of 'I'm-just-going-to-the-dockyard' type collections and S/S '12 follow A/W '11's lead.

"Lapels are wider, fabrics are super-matte and double-breasted jackets are back. Consider the boyfriend's wedding attire for next summer well and truly sorted."

A review of the show by The Mail Online claimed that the majority of the show was more about "crazy" than "classic"; with a lot of bizarre creations hitting the catwalk including hats made out of combs and multi-coloured sunglasses.

Other trends thought to be less popular included snakeskin, sparkles and a man clutch.

Reacting to the more bizarre elements of the show, fashion expert Deborah Arthurs claimed that this is always part of the show and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
