Block colours are predicted to dominate the fashion market in spring 2012, according to fashion publication Drapers.
It cited the comments of fashion expert Derek Lovelock, who recently stated colour blocking would be the key focus of many fashion retailers. "We are going to take colour blocking to the next level," he said, meaning by March or April 2012, women's designer clothing is set to to be bright and bold. "Prints are also going to be strong."
He wasn't the only one who expressed this opinion, as fellow design specialist Gemma Metheringham stated: "Spring 12 will all about colours with citrus colours including yellows and oranges, and tomato reds particularly strong. "I also think we'll see a lot of rich tropical colours such as blues, greens and turquoises coming through," she added, perhaps prompting those buying designer clothing online to seek out clothes like this now, as they'll then be ahead of the trend.
The news, also cited by Freshstylenow.com, saw many fashion-conscious men and women echo this opinion.
Not only did Lovelock and Metheringham confirm the upcoming trend, but boutique owner Deryane Tadd did too; advising: "For next reason, we'll be looking at a lot of brights; I think they are doing to be strong - bright reds, oranges, pinks, a small amount of yellow, bright blues."
